Dear Parents,
Welcome all the new and returning parents to BCS 2020-21 school year ! The COVID-19 pandemic had changed the way education was conducted from in person to distance learning. During the summer, BCS board of directors had decided to begin the school year with distance learning for the 1st semester ( 09-12-2020 to 01-09-2021 ). BCS still in hope that in person class can be safely available in the 2nd semester.
Tomorrow, the first day of school will be conducted in distance learning with Zoom. Please prepare your children with necessary computer setup and class materials to begin the class tomorrow morning at 9:00am.
As like all the years before, all the parents are required to fill out the parent return slip. Please fill out the online version google form below for each child who attend class in BCS.

WWII Chinese American G.I. Webinar -8/29

Our friends at the Bay Area Chinese Genealogy Group (BACGG), the Chinese Historical and Cultural Project (CHCP), and the Chinese Historical Society of America (CHSA) are hosting an exciting webinar on August 29th, Operation: WWII Chinese American G.I.. This is a unique discussion illustrated by demonstrations from the largest collection of Chinese American military memorabilia. Please register below. 

More than 20,000 Chinese Americans served this country in World War II. This is an important part of American history!

This webinar is recognized by the Department of Defense, as a Commemorative Partner, as it celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the end of WWII. The webinar precedes a September ceremony that will honor Chinese American WWII Veterans. Further information on the September ceremony is forthcoming.

Operation: WWII Chinese American G.I. will not just explore dates and places significant to Chinese American World War II history, but also but explore the war through the lens of the world’s largest private collection of Chinese American, and military memorabilia. Additionally,  a clip from the film We Served with Pride, will be shown. This film features 15 Chinese American WWII Veterans who served with uncommon valor, as a common virtue.

The keynote speaker is Montgomery Hom, the Executive Producer for the California Ceremony, an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, author, and military historian. He will be joined by Major General William S. Chen, the first Chinese-American to wear a 2-star rank in the U.S. Army, and Connie Young Yu, Trustee Emeritus Board Member of the Chinese Historical Society of America.

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) issue, ANCCS held an emergency meeting today and decided to cancel the 2020 ANCCS academic competition. Students will be notified later about the refund of ANCCS AC registration fees. Thank you for your cooperation.

Come celebrate BCS’s 40th Anniversary!! Let’s gather for a reunion of families and friendships on Saturday, March 14, at Sierramont’s Multipurpose Room. There will be great entertainment, recognition of teachers, special gift for all youth attending, many raffle door prizes, and of course singing of Happy 40th BCS with delicious cake!

1:00 – 1:30 pm  ~~Come view the artwork of our very talented BCS student artists from our recent Academic Competition as well as the entries and winners of our BCS 40th Anniversary Art Competition.

1:30 – 4:00 pm ~~ Spectacular entertainment that will surely bring joy and smiles. Many will go home with a gift from our many door prizes!!

HSIC seminar, there will be one seminar about BCS HSIC classes in Piedmont Library this Saturday at 9:15am. In this workshop, HSIC core team will provide information about HSIC classes and its objective. Also helping parents to understand the adjustment from middle to high school. All questions and comment are welcome.
